Full note: November 14, 2025 – San Pablo District, Teorama – Catatumbo Region.
The Mobile Medical Team of the Project Strengthening the humanitarian response to migration and armed conflict situations in South America, an initiative funded by the German Red Cross and the European Union, continues to bring essential health services to rural communities affected by armed conflict and with significant limitations in accessing timely medical care.
During the first seven days of operation in the township of San Pablo, the humanitarian team has provided comprehensive care that includes:
- More than 426 general medicine consultations, contributing to the early diagnosis and treatment of various conditions.
- 119 nursing services, including the administration of contraceptive methods and basic health checks.
- 123 dental services, focused on prevention, oral hygiene and priority procedures.
- 78 psychology consultations, focused on the emotional well-being and mental health of the community.
- Delivery of medications to all assessed patients requiring therapeutic treatment, ensuring continuity in their recovery process.
These humanitarian actions have directly benefited more than 30 villages in the San Pablo district and indirectly benefited more than 50 villages in other districts and nearby municipalities. Likewise, assistance was provided to ethnic communities present in the territory, applying a differentiated approach that respected their practices and cultural particularities.
With this intervention, the ECHO PP Project reaffirms its commitment to bringing health closer to those who need it most, strengthening well-being, prevention and access to essential services in hard-to-reach rural areas in Catatumbo.
The Colombian Red Cross, together with its strategic partners, will continue to move forward with commitment, humanity and neutrality to support the most vulnerable communities in the country.
